History of Fracht Group

  • 1955Ruedi Reisdorf along with two other partners incorporates Fracht AG which to this day remains a Swiss family company.
  • 1961Our office in Kloten opens to meet the demands of the market in terms of dynamically developing air freight services.
  • 1965First office located abroad opens in New York.
  • 1973First significant project in the scale of the whole market – BBC / Tobruk – 170,000 freight tons.
  • 1976Entrance on the German forwarding market as the Manheim office opens for business.
  • 1990Fracht AG moves its headquarters to a modern office building at 79 Birigstrasse in Basel, which is still owned by the company.
  • 1996Entrance on the Chinese market through opening of an agency in Shanghai.
  • 1998The second agency in China opens – this time in Beijing.
  • 2000Creation of a special logistics division in Switzerland as an answer to market trends in broadly understood outsourcing for pharmaceutical / FMCG companies.
  • 200550-th anniversary of Fracht AG which still remains a property of Reisdorf family and is managed by them.
  • 2006Further development of the network of company’s offices – new branches open in Amsterdam, Rotterdam, and Warsaw.
  • 2007Incorporation of Fracht Italia Sri, Fracht France, and Fracht Hong Kong Ltd, with head offices in Milan, Paris, and Hong Kong. Registration of a company in Shanghai.
  • 2008Further development in Asia – creation of Fracht FWO Logistics Co. in Taiwan with head office in Taipei.
  • 2009Creation of Fracht FWO Czech s.r.o. in Ostrava along with the second Czech branch near Prague.
  • 2011Creation of Fracht Canada Freight Inc., with head office in Vancouver.
  • 2012Opening a branch in Sweden by transforming the partner company into Fracht Sweden AB.
  • 2015Today over 1 000 employees of Fracht Group, working in 70 offices all around the world, are ready for challenges brought by the globalization of logistics services.
